Opening WideHer heart is blossoming  Opening wide  And she doesn't know why,  Why it's so hard to try  "It's only a jump" they say  As they leap from the sky  "But I never learned how to fly"  She calls out into space  While the echoes of velvet wings dance,  Playing over her face  Teasing her hair like the new spring wind  So she sings.  Her lungs for the first time,  
Can fill up with air  There's not a cough or a gasp or a wheeze  Anywhere.  The air leaves her lungs and fills the room  Full.  It flutters behind her and lifts her up  High.  Her heart was Opening Wide

GuiltHe comes to me on the wings of a shadow,  
The street corners crossing to make an X on the wall behind us,  His breath rattling inside his lungs, tiny ice chips bouncing off glass walls,  Tripping over his tongue, getting twisted on the smallest of words,  
His mouth carries the sweet scent of lost love and sharp green mint,  Unlike that of whiskey or other heartbroken cocktails, this was genuine and heavy and sad.  I can’t hear his heart beating in his throat, but I know it’s there,  
Pumping his thinning, lonely, empty blood,  His hands have a soft gleam of perspiration, but he keeps wringing them, &n Guilt
